Steve is a casual lecturer in jazz piano and improvisation at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, where he is also available as an Associate Supervisor for postgraduate research, specialising in composition and improvised/open music. He is also an itinerant teacher at Newington College in Stanmore. As a private teacher, Steve designs a program to fit the interests and needs of each student, and balances aural-based-learning and improvisation with music theory and traditional approaches to piano performance training across jazz, classical and contemporary popular music styles.
Steve is based in Lilyfield in Sydney’s Inner West, where he also teaches from home on a Yamaha C3 grand piano and takes all ages and stages of students.
Thanks for touching base!
